How do I... Make An Appointment?
Appointments can be made personally or by telephoning Claverley (01746) 710223 or 710424 during surgery hours, or at Pattingham when open on (01902) 700462. It would be most helpful if you could arrive promptly for your appointment and if you are unable to attend please cancel as early as possible. Unfortunately, surgeries do sometimes run late but we will do our best to avoid this and keep you informed of the situation. You can see either doctor in the practice, but it is preferable to see one doctor during each period of illness. Urgent cases will be seen the same day, though not necessarily by your usual doctor.
We would politely ask patients to adhere to their allotted appointment time as this affects other patients waiting their turn. If you know you may want a longer appointment, please tell the receptionist at the time of booking that you wish to book a double appointment.
DNAs (Did not attend)
Each week a considerable number of appointments are lost through DNAs. If you are unable to keep an appointment please telephone as soon as possible to cancel. This enables another patient the opportunity of seeing the doctor or nurse.
How do I... Obtain Telephone Advice?
We do try to avoid disturbing the doctors with telephone calls during surgery whenever possible. If you wish to speak to the doctor you may be asked to ring back at a more convenient time.
How do I... Obtain A Home Visit?
The doctors will visit patients at home who, through illness or disability, are unable to come to the surgery. However, home visits take up considerably more time, so please help the doctor by attending the surgery whenever possible. Remember, the surgery is far better equipped than the doctor's bag! If you require a home visit please telephone the Claverley surgery before 10.00am, giving sufficient details to enable us to assess the urgency of your visit.
How do I... Obtain Test Results?
You may telephone for test results after 2.00pm on weekdays. Please note that in the interests of confidentiality, results will normally be given only to the patient themselves or to the parents of minors.
